From the 4x6 release for "lust".

An idle suggestion from the lady as a precursor to lust.

Self-portrait based on Adam and Eve, speculating the "what if we..." motif. Went for ephemeral with a pretty long exposure and low-light feel on this one.

Very good but if it was my photo I would crop all that wasted space above the hair out. Just my two cents :)

wow! the emotion comes through so very well. it seems there is definately a serious question floating around in that head. and more and more i am falling in love with the selective coloring of objects because (as is beauttifully demonstrated here) it really pulls your mind away from the whole image to think about why that one piece is so important. before i looked at the title and description i thought it was a Snow White reference...but it works just as well if not better as a reference to eve...so yay for good dA'ers like you.

ps - i like that you described how you got the shot too :D

hey thanks! i've got to be quite honest: i usually hate selective color. but you can't knock something until you try it, right?

an apple a day will keep the doctor away. my only suggestion would be to move in a bit closer so you could show your shoulders etc but not show the clothing, it may mean holding your arm abit higher to achieve the same sorta stance.

hey this is really cool. nice job Allison. the only thing I would say is that I think it would be cooler if you were looking at the apple instead of the camera. Unless there is a specific reason which I am not privy too. Either way its very good. And keep in mind my expertise is not in the photogrpahy arena ;) anywways thanks for sharing this.

hehe thanks. yes there is a reason...adam and eve were the only people, in the tale, on earth at that point...so adam would be the audience here...the theme was "lust," and i shot this as "precursor to..."

the focus is the act or emotion (or lack thereof, or however you interpret it), not the object.

hey we were just talking about the selective color the other day. well done. the only thing i'd say about it is that your skin is a little dark compared to the striking redness of the apple. but a very effective portrait. :)
